"Life is a _______."



How would you fill in the blank? Would you say struggle, fight or trap; or would you say highway, dream or blessing?



In a recent poll, most mid-level managers answered battle, while most executives answered game. Could this be why most mid-level managers have been stuck in their positions seemingly forever, with very little chance of promotion?



How do you view your life? Is it something you look forward to each and ever day, or is life something you just try to make it through because the weekend or your next day off is just around the corner.



We were never meant to toil away at a job we love. Many cultures in our world do not even have a word for retirement. Quitting work is just not something that people do in those cultures because it is who they are. Instead of compartmentalizing their lives and having separate areas for work, family and church those who are most successful in life find a way to combine them all. When they do they not only become passionate but they also become successful.



What are you passionate about? Are you toiling away doing something that simply pays the bills, or are you using your unique gifts to not only help others, but also to enrich your life? Doing what you love should be the way we all live, but our culture usually tells us we cannot do it.



Picture you as a salesman trying to sell a product that you hate. It won’t be very easy to wake up each morning, call on your customers and enthusiastically help them improve their lives. But if you really believe in what you are selling and that your product or service will in turn enrich those who buy from you, the supply of money entering you life will be virtually endless.
